RT 411 from Dalton, Ga to Maryville, TN

Hey all!

Hope all is well with everyone.

We are coming up thru Atlanta from Jax FL to Maryville/Townsend, TN. I'd like to not do that I-75 bend to Chattanooga, and instead, hit 411 outside Dalton, GA and go up. Has anyone done that road and is it good for a 40' 5er or should I just stay on I-75?

Papaz,

We use US-411 a lot and it is fine. Quite a bit of it is 4-lane. Instead of getting on it near Dalton (you would have to take 76 to Chatsworth), you might want to exit I-75 further south where US-411 intersects I-75. Look for the exit for "Chatsworth White."

I have driven 411 southbound from just north of the Little Tennessee River, all the way to I-75. I have also driven it down to the town of Fairmont GA and then turned west on GA53 to the Bucees at I-75. I then continued west to Rome and then south on US27 (which is all 4 lane. I no longer go thru Atlanta or even around it on I-285, with the truck and trailer.)

All good road, 4 lane in Tennessee.

I-75 is also a good road and continuing north on 75 is not an issue, its when you take I-24 thru Chattanooga that its not great.

Are there sufficient rest stops / Truck stops for diesel on 411 going north from Atlanta?

Looks like most of the truck stops are on I-75, with a Loves and Racetrack before exiting on hwy 411.
