Rt 73 Bypass of Rt 10 At Beaumont Tx

Does anyone use this bypass and does it avod any current construction or bad conditions on I-10?

Yes, even without the construction it can often be the better / faster route when there is traffic congestion. Just be aware you have to cross the tall bridge in Bridge City, eastbound is better than westbound as eastbound you use the Memorial Bridge, which was built in the 1990's westbound you are on the much steeper and narrower Rainbow bridge which was built in the 1930's (at the time it was built it was the tallest bridge in the south).



Before she retired my mother in law worked in Houston during the week and lived in Lake Charles on the weekends, and she swore it saved 10+ minutes doing the 73 / 87 to Orange route bypassing Beaumont.
