San Antonio or Houston on Sunday

We'll be traveling from southern New Mexico to Pensacola, FL in September. Should we drive through San Antonio or Houston on Sunday? We don't have time to do both on a Sunday.
Thank you RV people.
Matt

Not sure I understand your question. Are you asking us if these cities have something interesting for you to visit? Are you asking us whether it's smart to drive through them on a Sunday, versus some other day of the week?? Are you asking how long it takes to get from San Antonio to Houston??

Sorry about that....what I meant to say in a few words was which city has the worst traffic and therefore we'll go through that place on Sunday

If you haven't seen "The Alamo" or the "RiverWalk" lately or at all, then my vote would be for San Antonio.

We plan to see San Antonio on our return but wanted to know which city has the worst traffic and we'll go through there on a Sunday on our way to Pensacola.

I think either will be better on a Sunday. Houston traffic, IMHO, is always worse than San Antonio.

Recently moved from Houston because we were tired of the traffic and sprawl.

We personally have not had difficulty transiting through either city on a week day avoiding rush hour traffic. Houston has more traffic lanes than any place we have ever seen. We just stay somewhere east or west of Houston so we can hit it after rush hour traffic. We stay in a middle lane and go right thru. We usually stop in San Antonio but again have not encountered major problems when driving before/after rush hour traffic.

Just take I-10 straight through both of them on Sunday. You can easily do both San Antonio and Houston on Sunday with time left over.

You should not have a problem thru either on a Sunday. You can also go thru Dallas on a Sunday. Happy Trails.

I've been to both places and would go with San Antonio hands down. In fact, I'm taking a trip down there this next weekend and will spend some time on their beautiful riverwalk. If you have the opportunity, I would make a point to go to New Braunsfels too. Its about a thirty minute drive north of San Antonio. Beautiful place, I've loved every minute I've spent in that area. Make sure you swing by the Guadalupe River if you do.

Do Houston on Sunday. Last May when we went through - I-10 in the center of Houston was under construction and they had major detours. All of which were not well marked and GPS had a meltdown. Best advice is drive through Houston between 4:00 AM and 5:00 AM on a Sunday morning! San Antonio wasn't even in the same league- traffic wise.

Thank you for all your advice RVer's, I really appreciate all of you. We're planning to leave Deming "early" Friday AM and go thru both San Antonio and Houston on Sunday.
NOT looking forward to Florida traffic so we plan to leave our 5th wheel someplace in Pensacola and just take the truck to Clearwater and Melbourne Beach.
When we go to Cave Creek, AZ we ALWAYS go thru Phoenix on Sunday AM.
