It's an easy run from San Jose on 680 to I80 and over to Salt Lake. We often stay the night in Winnemuca at the New Frontier RV Park. It's a Passport America park and therefore a great value.

You can start late and take 580 over to I5 and run up to 12. Flag City is there, another Passport America Park. Then you have a shorter drive to Winnemucca the next day.

Can't give you a good Salt Lake CG, but I'm sure that someone will pop up with an appropriate suggestion.

When are you going and do you have reservations yet?

We go there every two years in July from Clovis and use I80 for the trip. Lot's of RV parks along the way.

We stay at the KOA near the Temple.

It's so weird being the same age as old people.

I was just looking at Flag City a couple of days ago and they seem to have dropped their Passport America affiliation - at least they're not listed on the Passport America phone app...they do still show up as a Good Sam park, though.

Easiest is just take I-80. Depending on day/time, you'll have to decide which route is better. 680 all the way to 80 or 680-580-5or99-80

The SLC KOA Holiday is a tightly packed place. I only overnighted there once though.

Cosgrove Rest Area a bit west of Winnemucca is nice and even has a free dump station (though beware it truly is a dump.... no hoses, just open valve and then rinse). Good place to overnight if needed

Or hit up the casinos in West Wendover at the NV/UT border.

Just looked today and they come up on the website. About three months ago we stayed at the PA rate. However, with the major RV Park usage on-going, I would not be surprised if they go away from PA.
