I'd do the 25N/350 squiggly route but then we don't like congestion and enjoy driving the back roads.

I'd definitely wouldn't want to get into the Denver mess.

Take your pick. You're driving!

I would take the southern route

I40 to Oklahoma City
I44 to St. Louis
I55 to I39
I90 at Rockford IL
HWY151 Madison Wi

Just a thought
Good Luck safe travels

We kind of did the same trip this summer going to South Dakota to change our residency. We went from Santa Fe Freemont, Wisc. by the way of Rapid City.
We took 285 north to Alamosa, stopped and seen the Great Sand Dunes National Park, then over to I-25. Stayed at Valley of Gods RV Park in Colorado Springs.
The 25 north thru Denver to I-76 and went to Sidney, Neb.. In Sidney you will find Cabela's Campground at their old Headquarters. Nice campground, decent price and you get a discount if a member.
Then we ran 385 north to Rapid City, stayed for 10 days. When we left ran I-90 east to Sparta, Wisc., then took 21 route to Freemont. Green Bay was only about 60 miles away.
If you want I can send you a copy of our old trip if you PM me your e-mail and if you are a RV Trip Wizard member.

Alamosa was a nice stop over, but I did not like it because that is were our Dachshund passed away. But the area was really nice.
