December travel is a crapshoot no matter where you are going. It's better than Jan. or Feb.

Hunted in Amarillo a couple of weeks ago and it was in the 50's every afternoon, I-10 was shut down this week due to snow in west Texas.

Since you have plenty of time figure out several plans on getting from A-B.

Take your time the weather will dictate your travel.

Rose Bowl left California in 2020 for Texas.

After a great run in Texas - will it return to Cali? Who Knows, appears to be a lot of leaving when you look at Cali. -

Best Of Luck,

just watch the weather forecasts and react accordingly. neither i-10 nor i-40 get closed for extended periods of time, though i-40 being higher does get more snow. even the passes into the la area (i-5, i-15, i-10) get snow and get closed at times.

Best Of Luck,
Fingers crossed things will be back to somewhat normal by then.

I5 (Grapevine) and I15 (Cajon Pass) get closed a couple times per year, but after 31 years in LA county I don't recall I10 ever closing for snow. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the 1st time.
