Snowshoe Ski Resorts WV

Has anyone driven a Class A diesel pusher to the top of Snowshoe Resort. We have a 43' Newmar. We are staying in a condo there for Christmas and they said we could park our RV at Top of the World.
We would leave RV closed up and stay in the condo. It is going to be very cold. Will we have to worry about anything freezing in the RV? We live in it full time which is why we would drive it to the resort.
Thanks for any infor anyone has.

Water frrreeezes at 32. If you are going to have it there you need to have it plugged in and heat going or you will definitly have problems with it freezing up.

If you are not going to have heat you need to worry about anything freezable in you cabinets, refrigerator, water lines and pump, drains etc.

If you have heat you should put a light bulb in the wet bay and near the water pump to prevent freezing.

This may be a challenge. You might want to drop the MH off at a cg and plug it in.

Do you have a few Long Cords to plug in?

Can you park close enough to the Building to Plug in? You really only need to keep the batteries charged so the heat will work.

Otherwise you will likely need auto gen start on (AGS) to keep the batteries up. If I were you I'd just stay in it to be safe - you say it's home - would sure be easier - just shower inside the rental and you will be good if everything is topped off and the Black and Grey tanks are empty.

We did a Utah Winter trip, Zion (70 sunny) and Bryce (17 and 8" of snow) with our Boys when they were in College - we got them a Motel room and we stayed in the Coach - all was fine. Ran the Generator couple hours in the AM and about Three in the PM everything stays charged and warm - and you will be fine.

JMHO,

We only did Snowshoe once - don't remember any issues other than snow at the top and all the Skiing was ICE - wind blows all the snow off. It is a rather twisty turny drive.

You never know what the weather is going to do. I've seen it 20 and 30 below up there and no one's cars would crank, had to have them towed down to Marlinton to warm up enough to crank them. On the other hand, you could be skiing in shorts, but most likely it's going to deep freeze at night....I lived in WV for 20 years and very familiar with the place.

Last year we drove up to Cass (Scenic Railroad), which is just outside Snowshoe, in the fall. Road was fine - we were on the east side of Snowshoe. Can't speak for the road to Snowshoe itself. As others have said, yes, you need to worry about things freezing! Watch the weather carefully - a significant cold snap could become very expensive if you haven't winterized...

Snow Shoe resort is situated on the top of the mountain. The road up to the resort is very steep and full of switchbacks. The weather at the top can be quite variable.
