Spokane to La Vegas

We will be getting back into the lower 48 from Alaska at the end of August. We are going to visit friends in Sandpoint ID then we need to head to Las Vegas NV. We are looking for the quickest route from Spokane to Las Vegas. We have no problem traveling 2 lane roads in our 40' DP towing a Jeep. MS Streets and Trips is recommending US 195, US 95 and ID 55 to I-84 outside of Boise. At Twin Falls it recommends taking US 93 south to Las Vegas. Is this route OK and the quickest?

I think the 15 will be fastest.

We used to live in Hayden, ID, (just above Coeur d'Alene) and would make a run at least twice a year through Las Vegas to visit our grandson in San Diego.
I would recommend I-90 east to I-15 south. Depending on the time of day, you may hit a bit of traffic through Salt Lake City. Also depending on how many miles you're comfortable driving each day, here are some RV parks to consider.
Dillon Montana's Friendliest RV Park ? Southside RV Park ? Dillon, MT Dillon, MT. About 380 miles from Sandpoint. Nothing fancy but very clean.
Pony Express RV Resort Home Page Salt Lake City, UT. About 350 miles from Dillon.
Driving straight through from SLC to Las Vegas is about 425 miles.

The 2 lane state highways through Nevada North south are a delight to drive. Wide, smooth, great scenery, ample facilities along the way. Take your pick and it will be a nice drive.

There are some pretty serious grades going south through Idaho. Lewiston and south of Grangeville to name a couple. Don't know about I15.

Hi Dave & Jeri,

Hope your trip down I93 and such was a good one. Weather permitting we plan to take the same route the early part of November. What was your experience using that route?

We took 93 the full length a few years ago by car. As with most highways in Nevada wide well maintained and scenic. Some elevation so watching the weather as you say is good. Early November should be fine I would guess.

The biggest town along the way is Ely which I suspect would have some RV accomodations. Since we went by car we did not look into RV sites. Lots of wide open spaces in Nevada, miles and miles of scenery and little else.
