Streets and Trips 2013

I know this program is getting dated, but it is still my go to for initial routing. And to check things while on the road. I really wish Microsoft would bring it back.
Meanwhile I recently came across a blog called "Streets and Trips Team Blog". It had a bunch of POI way-point files for download. Unfortunately it seems as if the files were hosted by a site called "www.laptopgpsworld.com" that has gone belly up. Does anyone know of another site that has these POI files?

You can look at the Wayback Machine, https://archive.org/web/

Enter the original site's URL in the search box and select a date and it will take you to an archive of that site on that date. It's hit or miss as to whether files and other links will still work, but its worth a try.

I am another die-hard S&T 2013 user. I keep my POI files up-to-date with downloads from the POI Factory

All of them are free with the exception of Red Light and Speed Cameras, which require a paid subscription. I don't run red lights and never speed , at least not within city limits (I do quite a bit of driving in CA while towing and have been known to exceed the 55 mph speed limit when on an open road).

I was a Delorme fan myself. Hated to see them fold. I loved AAA Map'n'Go and Street Atlas USA.

They were superior in almost every way for planning and travel.

Built in navigation and phone apps are sometimes more convenient, but they don't offer the screen real estate to get the "big picture". I miss being able to easily zoom out enough to get context, especially in those last minute decision situations. There were many times when we were using the laptop based navigation that we came to a sudden stop on the interstate and had to make a quick choice whether to take the last exit or sit in traffic. With the laptop, it was quick to zoom out and see if there were "easy" alternate routes. With the smart phone and even with UConnect Navigation on the RAM, its difficult to get it zoomed and focused and the screens aren't big enough to give real context.
