Sunpass in MH/toad

Does anyone flat tow a car behind a motorhome using sunpass(es)? If so what are your experiences with having one in the toad and rv etc.?

In our old MH/Toad combination, we had one portable sunpass transponder in each for the florida turnpike. If we left them both up, we got charged 4 axles from the rv and 2 axles from the toad (so 2 axles too many). So we removed the one from the toad and put it in the glovebox while towing.

We have since gotten a new toad and motorhome, we got the stick on permanent one for the MH and the portable one for the toad, so we could remove it when towing.

We made a trip with the MH and toad with the toads transponder stored inside the center console, but after this trip when driving the toad by itself on the turnpike it said "go sunpass" on the display as we drove through, even though we had left the transponder in the console by accident. So the transponder in the toad was registering while in the console... interesting.
So we then checked the sunpass account to see what had happened while towing it, it showed one transaction for each transponder, so both transponders registered, the one on the rv had 4 axles, and the toad's transponder 2. But the 2 axle transaction on the toads transponder showed $0.00

Does anyone have any experience towing with a transponder in both the toad and rv lately? I'm wondering if they changed something recently making it able to tell that its being towed and not charge it twice?

Just interested in starting a discussion on this.
Thanks for any input.

We keep our Sunpass and Ezpass transponders in the glovebox, when not using. Wrap it in a RF bag so it's not picked up, be sure to close end of bag. Log on the Sunpass site, click on Transponders and Vehicles, scroll down and click on Request Transponder Supplies, there you can request RF bags and/or suction cups. The only problem is, some toll plazas count axles as you go thru. Found this out heading from Fla to NJ.

We use one Sunpass when traveling on FL toll roads. We tow a car on a dolly (4 axles total) and make sure the transponder is on the motorhome windshield when towing. Once at our destination and the moho is parked we transfer the transponder to the car windshield.

Regardless we have still had problems and have had to monitor and challenge Sunpass invoices (statements) on 2 occasions ( out of many) when they charged for 5 axles instead of 4. After lengthy times and several phone calls and messages, we were eventually credited for the added axle.

We have one sunpass. If traveling in the RV that's where the sunpass is. If the RV is parked it's in the toad. Haven't had a problem.

Florida now has what's called EPass which works in Florida and all EZPass states. No problem with having a transponder in the RV and another in the Toad.

We have the permanent on the windshield of the TOAD and it works perfect. Registers 5 axels every time. We don't need one for the coach as we always take the car with us.

Funny we just crossed over into Fl today and I was thinking the same thing as we have not used our sunpass for couple of years.

We did contact them a few months ago to continue our account which still has a balance.

Originally, we got Riverlink, now part of the E-ZPASS system, for crossing the Ohio River bridges in Louisville. The motorhome has a regular transponder box, the toad just has a sticker with a chip, since they register each transponder by vehicle class. The car is a class 1 (2 axles) and the MH is class 2 (2-4 axles, 2 + 2). We’ve gone through Louisville and on Illinois tollways with the toad and always the transponder for the MH is read and never the toad transponder chip.
