Surprise, AZ to Surf City, NC

Heading out to surf City NC late March, not doing any site seeing on way to NC, taking 7 days for trip. Thinking I10 to Fort Stockton, hwy 67, eventually jumping onto hwy 84 to Dothan Alabama. Meander up to Augusta at Heritage rv park. From there it's just I20,easy peazy, I think. Never been east of Waco Tx, so any input would be great. Have to be in Surf City 4/1. Thanx,

That would be a good route. Stay out of Atlanta. I enjoyed running I 10 when I was trucking. As you go east you will find its more crowded. Hills and trees and smaller spaces. Out west you can just about pull off anywhere you want. In the eastern states not so much.

Take 10 through New Orleans. Cross that bridge over the lake. That is really something to see. But I'm from Nebraska were land locked like seeing all that water.

Look at I-40 all the way across.... if the weather cooperates. We are sitting in Goodyear, right down the road, at Cotton Lane RV Park

What about I-10/I-20 all the way to Tuscaloosa and then cut down to Dothan from there on 82?

I know you said you are not doing any sight seeing along the way. But stop at the battle ship museum in Mobile Al along the way.
