Tampa to Vegas

Getting ready to plan this years first trip Tampa to Vegas bot I have a few questions. . 1st let me state I have driven I 10 many many time over the years and have no problem with the road. That said shortest distance wise would be to run over to Mobile Al then up to 40 w but looking at the weather averages for late March That seems to be the windiest time of year in the Texas, New Mexico area on I 40. So I thought I20 or I 10Then up to Kingman. So I guess I'm trying to figure out Go through Dallas Or Houston, Anyone have thoughts? Is I 40 not good that time of year? I'll make Dallas or Houston on a weekend so what are your thoughts

I think the issue with staying south is the tornadoes and weather that starts down there. That probably produces the winds along I-40?

For sure you will need to keep an eye on the weather and maybe speed up the trip or slow it down. We've had to do that in the past. I remember one trip where we stayed near Holbrook or Winslow, AZ one year and hunker down because the winds were a bit much to keep traveling.

I'd take a little wind over Dallas or Huston.

Just last week we had tornados hit S/SE of Houston. It started in Pearland and went up NE toward Baytown. Lot of damage and there was a video of a UPS semi flipping over because of the winds.

Go I-10 if you can deal with it. By-pass Houston! I drove through there a few years back and had to drive an automobile when I returned on an investigation that took me there.
Atlanta is a piece of cake when comparing traffic. Houston is huge!
Pretty country west of Houston
