I want to share with you our trip we are taking from Texas to California - From North of Houston we will traverse north to Durango, four corners, Monument Valley, Moab, Yosemite, down route 1 along the coast of California ... finally back home following route 66 from San Bernadino to Amarillo as much as we can. We begin this Saturday and will be taking 3 weeks .... so join us as we update our blog each evening with photos and campfire stories! Ron

For anyone suffering through the heat and humidity east of the Rockies, consider a visit to Washington or Oregon.

Today in Anacortes, we had crystal clear blue skies, lots of sunshine, a high temp in our neighborhood around 69F and a humidity level around 30 percent. About 10 more days, with temps getting up into the high 70s and humidity staying down in the 20s to 30s, are being forecast. Also, sunset here is after 21:00 at present, so these nice days are LON.N.N.N.G.

10 days from now, all bets are off.

We have been in not-so-sunny California for a month. The Marine Layer is omnipresent every day. It keeps the temperatures in the high 60's to very low 70's along the coast. It is 8:30 p.m. at Del Mar Beach, Camp Pendelton and the temperature is 64 degrees. When I took the pupper out for her walk at 5 p.m. I was wearing a light wind breaker. I could live in this climate forever, but then, we travel.

We may be ships passing on the highway as we are on the reverse route of what you spoke of. Wave as you pass us by.
