Toledo to Petoskey, MI
Heading north: 75, 127 or 131?
Time is not the issue. Looking for recent knowledge of shape of roads. Have not been terribly impressed with Michigan roads in past trips. The unceasing rattling behind me is really grating. Any suggestions for route least likely to shimmy all my stuff off the counters?

I can help a little bit. Have taken 127 north from Lansing recently and it was fine, although traffic was quite heavy, still moved along well. 131 is good, some relatively minor stretches of construction north of Kalamazoo. No recent experience on 75. Avoid 69; Long stretches of construction (single lane, no passing) and long stretches of rough road.
And... we don't travel with stuff on our counters. Just a thought.

75 to Grayling 72 to 131 then north
There is a decent truck stop at Grayling. Otherwise there didn’t see any truck stops.
Filled there on the way up and on the way back.
Easy in and out. It’s right at the exit, Marathon Oil.
Once you get above Bay City, it’s a pretty dead interstate heading north on 75, road is in pretty good shape

I'd recommend removing the things from the counters and hunt down the rattles as you're traveling.
All roads in the U.S. need updating but in the meantime, try to curb the rattles.

On 8/7/22 we came south from Mackinaw City to Goshen, Ind., and we took
I-75 to 127 to I-69. South 75 was a good road, 127 was good, but I-69, rough construction, single lanes, it was just plain rough.
Also, the I-94 & I-69 interchange is being re-worked, big detour there.
