Smile Toxaway to Blairsville

Planning a trip and want to visit Lake Toxaway's Ridge at Mountain Falls RV park and then to Blairsville Ga to visit Crossing Creek. In a 45' Essex pulling a Jeep. Hard to tell about the roads between the two. Has anyone traveled this area and can give me some advice. Weather getting warm so making plans. Have a great day everyone!!

I would definitely not take US64 from Lake Toxaway thru Cashiers to Franklin. Very curvy and tight especially in a 45ft rig.

I would go from Lake Toxaway thru Brevard, Arden, Asheville then 74 to 23 to 64 to Hayesville to Blairsville. I grew up north of Asheville and lived in Blairsville area for 25 years before moving to TN. I've traveled all those roads many times.

I do not see Hwy 74 but assume I-40 is ok? I will try to get back to Nashville Tn so how best way from Blairsville to Nashville?

Yes, I40 west out of Asheville then take 74 at Clyde toward Lake Junaluska. Stay on 74 thru Waynesville and Sylva then 23 toward Dillsboro just past Sylva. Stay on 23 thru Franklin which becomes 23/64. Stay on 64 to Hayesville then 69 south out of Hayesville into GA then 76 west into Blairsville.

To Nashville:
Take 76 west out of Blairsville. Stay on 76 out of Ellijay to Chatsworth then 76 to Dalton and catch I75 north to Chattanooga then I24 on to Nashville.

You can take 19 out of Blairsville toward NC and pickup 74 west and it will take you to I75 in Cleveland TN but that will take you through the gorge and it's narrow and a lot of curves. I've taken motorhomes and towed long trailers that way but if you've not driven it before there are a couple of places if you meet another large vehicle or truck you have to stop due to sharp curves to be able to pass. Beautiful drive but I recommend driving in a car or pickup first. It may be 10 minutes quicker in winter but in the summer traffic is heavy due to rafters riding the river.

We went the exact opposite a couple years ago. Took 76 from Crossing Creek/Blairsville to Westminster SC a little jog then 11 to 130 to 64 and Mountain Falls. 37 ft Ventana towing as total newbies and made it ok.
