I went to the App Store and found many Smartlink‘s but none that seems to be for Garmin. Can you give us the specific name?

I didn't have the name quite right...here's a link to it: https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/111441

Hi Richard, I downloaded from your link and I take it the app works with the Garmin only? For the app to be used you must physically have a Garmin right?

That's my understanding. It is proprietary as far as I can tell.

Ok, what about a standalone App? One that allows you to put in a start and stop City for the day and see what’s out in front of you?

In my experience you get what you pay for. The stand-alone apps that are commonly used usually don't allow you to enter the vehicle parameters, which makes the routes useless for a motor home unless you're in a small class B.

There are a few paid apps I've tried, and none give me the functionality of the Garmin. True, the Garmin is not perfect so no need to remind me of that. But, in all the years I've used GPS units and the various apps it's still the best I've found.

All that said, here's one online app I've just found which allows you to view weather on your route: https://morecast.com/en/plan-your-route

I use an app called inRoute and it shows any weather advisories along a route. Can also show winds, precipitation, and elevation changes.

For real time driving I use MyRadar.

I know it's not exactly what you have in mind, but look at the National Digital Forecast Database in the bottom right corner.
