I would like to put another spin on it, Buc-ee's has good food by gas station standards, but is not a sit down restaurant, in fact there are no tables or chairs in the place, even though they have made to order hot food, something I have always thought is strange, but not a big deal if one is in an RV as you have your own table in the parking lot. The BBQ sandwich island at Buc-ee's has a never ending supply of freshly made grab and go BBQ sandwiches which are good, but are by far not the best BBQ in Texas. Buc-ee's also has fresh fruit cups, and other fresh snacks, as well as house brand jerky, trail mix, dozens of flavors of fountain drinks, and some of the cleanest gas station restrooms in the world with a 24 hour full time attendant constantly cleaning them.
So if you need to take a break, fuel up, stretch your legs for half an hour or so, and grab a decent bite to eat while on the road, and maybe stock up on road food Buc-ee's is great. If you expect to go sit down and enjoy some good Texas BBQ, it is less ideal.
