Travel to Canada
I will be traveling to Canada next month with MH & toad and three dogs.
I understand that I will need:
1. Passport
2. Vehicle registrations
3. Letter of health and rabies vaccination certificate for dogs
4. Proof of insurance.
My question has to do with the last (Insurance proof). Do I need some kind of special endorsement for Canada? My Allstate insurance agent claims that all I need is the regular card, but friends have gotten a special Canada endorsement from State Farm.
Can anyone help with what is required for entry into Canada

OH...I have two cats....do I need anything for them? I hadn't thought of that since they are strictly indoors.

Cats need the same things as your puppies for travel in and out of Canada.

It used to be that your U.S. insurer needed to provide a "Yellow Card" as proof of insurance for Canada. We visited in 2012, and my Allstate agent said this card is no longer required and a U.S. proof of insurance card is satisfactory.

Other than the above, don't bring any Chicken or Poultry products or hand guns and you'll be fine. Might be a good idea to review the attached just in case. From the Horses Mouth so to speak.

Convert your coach height measurement to metric and put a note on your dash with that measurement, will save a panic situation when you see the signage on an over/underpass.
Another spot to visit for info on pets and other items crossing the border.

EDIT: As far as your friends , requiring a special card for insurance in Canada, you could contact State Farm directly , just in case the agent is wrong. But their need of a card may have been due to their coverage level ( low liability $) , some US state minimum insurance levels are way low compared to Canada.
