Traveling east from San Diego thru Arizona impressions

Just returned from a 1,200 mile 9 day trip from San Diego to 5 stops in Arizona.
Dateland, Tombstone, Zane Gray at Camp Verde, Sedona, Parker Dam and home.

I just want to say how absolutely impressed I am with the highway system in Arizona. Road are very well maintained. The area around Phoenix was great.
Bridges are works of art, off ramps and road signs identify gas stops and places to grab a bite super easily. No trash on the shoulders, not one speck of graffiti.

Puts California freeway system to shame. CALTRANS should take lessons.

Enjoyed the entire trip, my spouse of 41 years and our 12 year old GSD had a great time.

Looking forward to our next trip to Arizona.

Thanks for your awesome reply! So glad your Arizona trip went well!!

I agree, for a big city like Phoenix they do it right. . nice landscaping on most of the highways 202/101, etc.

Daughter lives there so we've been there often. The Maricopa County Parks have wonderful campgrounds for when you return!

What campgrounds in Maricopa County Parks would you recommend for RV camping?
Hookups preferred

We love them all... depends what part of the greater Phoenix area you want to be. I don't think any have full hookups. They have electric and water hookup and a dump station but things may have changed. Usery is in a nice location for many activities.

We also love Lost Dutchman State Park in Apache Junction the far east side of Phoenix/Mesa.
