Traveling in the smokies in October

Anyone know of a good campground in Townsend TN, and looking to travel from Townsend to North Ga, and what is the trip like taking 441 from Gatlinburg to Cherokee ( 36ft Bounder, tow dolly)

We are also going to the smokies in October and booked a site at the Townsend KOA. Wanted to stay at Big Meadow, but they didn't have anything available for our timeframe. Sites are limited at all the campgrounds, so book quickly.

Not to hijack, but we are going to be in that area in Oct also. I was ordering some parts today and the salesman we bought our 5vr from suggested we visit Helen, GA while we are there.

I envy you the trip - we did that general route about 10 years ago - then on down to Orlando/New Smyrna Beach area of Florida for the Winter - best trip and Winter RVing we've had...

Helen and Delonaga are beautiful and easy to get to. Makes for a very nice trip. The mountains are great this time of the year but it might be hard to find a good spot to stop. Have fun !
