Traveling on 95 Up The Coast, then to Vermont

My wife and I are taking a trip in October and find that our journey will take us along 95 between Washington DC and Martha's Vineyard. We will then head to Portland Maine, and then to Montpelier Vermont. We also plan to visit the Adirondack mountains, Niagara Falls, Catskill Mtns, and any place else that catches our attention. I am looking for recommendations for RV resorts and things to do along the way. We have a 45' Bus and will be towing a Jeep. We are starting and ending this 3600 mile round-trip in the Panhandle of Florida. I thank you all for any suggestions and cautionary tales you can share.

In October you will find limited campgrounds open. Check your itinerary with Campground reviews for what's open or not.

I think most RV Parks in Maine and Vermont close by October 15.

Hate to be negative, but I avoid 95 anytime I can. I'd reroute in central PA, NJ and CT to avoid the traffic and potholes.

I drive from the FL Keys to NJ more times per year than I want to (just did it two weeks ago).

AVOID 95 from mid-VA to Philly! Especially with a 45 footer and a toad!

I turn off 95 in Fredericksburg, VA and take VA-17 to I66 W and then hop on I-81 which bypasses all the congestion. It takes about an extra hour but it is much more relaxing, avoids the inevitable accidents and ubiquitous construction, save you some tolls plus there's a great BBQ truck stop in Opal, VA.

I 81 to old 17 (interstate 86) in NY then wander up to Albany area. You pick the roads or pay large tolls in NY & Mass pike.
