Tri cities, Washington

driving north on 82 from umatilla, oregon my destination is coeur d'alene, idaho
I can take 395 thru kennewick, Wa. but looks like it goes right down town. or follow the 82 till I get to 182 then hook up with the 395 in pasco, WA. any locals here or anyone that knows the area ?

You can but it is a lot longer.

395 thru Kennewick has about 6 lights, or less, on it and really isn't any problem. It is a limited access road.

If you are concerned about it, jump off on 730 at Umitilla and follow it to Wallula Jct. Then take 12 toward Pasco and rejoin 395. Much nicer drive around the river and you don't need to pull Horse Haven.

395 through Kennewick is your shortest route. Not too bad going through with an RV. It's busy but haven't any issues the many times I go through. Just remember you get off of 395 to 182 then immediately again back on 395 to complete the transition through tri-cities. That is probably about the biggest issue with going through.
