Trip planning planning for us starts with route selection using Google Earth Pro. It gives us distance route selection and a good view of the terrain or grades. We then pre load the trip into Co Pilot Rv software in my IPad. The Co Pilot software has inputs for rv dimensions and also select toll or no toll routes. We use the Bad Elf Pro GPS unit connected by Bluetooth to the IPad to Nagivate. The kids can also link to the GPS unit in the rv and track the progress, so no more "are we there yet" questions. Very pleased with the set up, after a 2,900 mile trip.
As for steep mountain grades, we enjoy the nice screenery that comes with it. Our MH has no problems with the grades, and my driving experience does not give me the white knuckle drives I used to have when I was younger.
