It will still be winter in Jackson. Any route could be snow packed.

I agree... you're a bit early unless you're visiting someone or working there. A LOT of snow this year!

Take 89 north from Flagstaff, AZ to UT I-15 to I-80 at Evanston, WY. Then 89 north to Jackson..... 1,022 miles

Explore Grand Teton Nat'l Park's web site to stay up-to-date on road information and campground openings if planning to stay there.

We lived in Jackson between 2000-2005. Winter was usually over in late May. We saw snow in 11 out of the 12 months with Sept being the only month without a chance of snow. “Summer” was from July through Sept.

In April it was Spring Break. Everyone left town for warmer climates. Many places closed for one to two weeks. At the end of Spring Break it was most depressing to return to winter snows.

Jackson has two tourist seasons a short summer and a long winter. April/May is called the mud season and it’s the only time without tourists so business take this opportunity to wind down for a few weeks before the busy Summer starts. June and October are the sweet spots with much smaller crowds but potentially iffy, but mostly nice weather.

In October when the first snow hits town the town is alive with excitement and parties. In April everyone is tired and depressed sick of everything to do with Winter.

Don’t go in April.
