U.S. Rt. 385S & U.S. Rt. 287S to Amarillo

Coming back East on I-80, near the I-76 junction; looking at taking U.S. Rt. 385 S to Cheyenne Wells; then to U.S. Rt. 287 S through Lamar, then on South to Amarillo Tx.

What are the highways like? Probably two lane (which is fine), smooth or rough?

Looks relatively straight& flat through farm country.

Anyone ever traveled all or part of these highways, & can give me some advice, or information.

This will be part of return to Florida, from our trip to Yellowstone.

I've never been on any of these highways, so it's all new to me!
