US 60 to US 45? Starting in Quartzite AZ

I have a sudden destination plan change after staying at a LTVA in Quartzite, I'm heading towards Michigan just north of South Bend In. I avoid intestates as much as possible to see the small towns the way people did before the interstate system was built. Because I ask my route question, I have a RAM 3500 pulling a 38' 5R 12'6" tall. Now my question? Anyone follow US 60 all the way to US 45 ? How's the route any issues for my size rig? I'm going to use harvest host as much as possible along the route. Thanks BTW I have 3 weeks to get to Michigan so it will be a nice slow ride . Also the weather is a concern I don't know all the elevations along this route.

Amarillo to Sikeston

Like you, I like to avoid interstates as much as possible. Last summer we ran US 60 from Amarillo to Sikeston MO in a Class C towing a Wrangler. I do not recall anything that would keep you from going this route. From Springfield to Sikeston, it is all 4 lanes. I recently read that the US 60-62 bridge at Cairo is closed for structural problems. I would not recommend it even if it is open. It is very narrow, check it out on Google street view. I use I 57 to IL 37 to 169 to connect with US 45.

In Pawhuska OK stop at the Pioneer Woman Mercantile. In Sikeston MO, Lambert's is a great place to eat. We stayed at Hintons RV park there. Lambert's has a shuttle that will come to the campground. The shuttle driver took us to the side door and seated us so we did not have to wait in line.

2019, We rode US60 starting from some town just west of Pie Town NM to just north of Tulsa OK. Great route! especially enjoyed it across New Mexico. I can’t speak to its suitability for a 5th wheel since we are in a 24’ motorhome.
