Us hwy 97
Can anyone tell me about US Hwy 97 from Toppenish., WA to I-84 in Oregon???
We have a 40' Class A and will be pulling a Wrangler 4 door.
Kinda leery of those narrow 2 lane roads with steep drop offs.
Thanks in advance for any help you all can offer.

I can't say that I've driven that, but a look at a random point (mile marker 30) using the street level view of Google maps makes me think that you'd be OK. Put another way, I wouldn't be concerned to drive that with my 43' motorhome with a toad.

Take care,

Decent road and nothing to get you excited about, major truck route to central WA.
Westbound downgrade at the summit, Satus Pass, is a few miles long and nothing to worry about. South of Goldendale the grade is steep about 6% for about 5 miles. The first section you have a stop sign at the HY 14 junction then the steepest part down to the river. Just be smart on the grade and you will do fine.

It's an easy drive. Don't be leery about 2-lane highways. The lanes are just as wide. To us, they're safer than interstates. Almost any road can be 'driven' on YouTube nowadays. Here is yours. Enjoy! Oh... and you might want to get the 'Mountain Directory for Truckers and RVers' which is very helpful on those secondary and interstate highways. We always referred to it beforehand - even though we may have driven the particular road before ... just to refresh our memory.

As stated its all good road, taken multi times pulling a 36ft 5W behind my F350. When you get to the river the Mayhill SP is a good stopping. Beautiful camp ground https://parks.state.wa.us/543/Maryhill
