We are planning a trip from Ga to Ohio via backroads. Would like to take US 221 up to Wytheville,Va. Does anyone have info on 221 from Spartenburg,SC to Wytheville,Va. We have a 35' class A pulling a toad

I've been on US 221 quite a few miles north and south of Marion, NC. Personally I would have no problem taking it from Spartanburg to north of Marion. How it is after it splits off of NC 226 north of Marion I can't say. You might want to take a look at a copy of the Mountain Directory East for possible steep grade areas.

I've only take it from Soperton, GA to
Augusta, GA...
but it is a good road that distance.
Don't remember taking it after that!
