Virginia Approved to Add Tolls on Interstate 95
Virginia is the latest state along the I-95 corridor to get permission to add toll booths to collect fees to pay for upkeep of the Old Dominion State's portion of the federal highway.

Thanks for the info, Dirk. I suppose it is a sign of the times. States having to get their dollars anyway they can and it is the traveling public who sometimes feels the impact with tolls and gas prices. I never travel the I-95 corridor anymore as in the past. Now if they put tolls on I-81, then we we feel it. When we visit my home state of New Jersey, we come in from the Poconos using I-80 and only have to pay a toll crossing the Delaware River.

Toll booths seem acceptable unless the road is then sold to some non US company like the owners of the Chicago Skyway and Indiana Toll road.

I remember when I95 through Richmond had 5 or so 25 cent tolls all within a few miles.
That stopped when the bypass was built.

Then I'm glad we'll be traveling that section this Saturday. They won't have time to have gotten the booths installed yet.

Revenue is tight you know. They might have a toll tent.

Just hope it's not the same system as the one trying to set up tolls on Seattle's 520 bridge. 1,000s got mailed notices of $1,000 plus tolls owed.
