Wells NV to Flagstaff AZ Help with best driving directions

I am in Wells NV, came south from Twin Falls ID. Now that I look at my route, I'm wondering if I should take Hwy 93 South to Las Vegas or take the I-84 through Salt Lake, then through Los Vegas and on to Flagstaff.

I'm trying to avoid taking Highway 89 through Page AZ. I did that last year and it was a quite curvy and the wind was awful.

Driving a 40' DP w/ toad; driving solo.

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

93 NV is my favorite route , in Ely take the 6 to 318 then back onto 93 at Ash Springs. Avoids the climbs to Caliente and saves 40 miles.
The small towns on route are speed traps !

Sinclair in Alamo has good fuel prices ; better that the truck stops at the 93/15 junction.

DON'T hit Vegas at rush hour !

EDIT : Climb on the 6, out of Ely is curvy but short .

Driving I-15 through Salt Lake City (at just about any time of the day) is a death wish in my view, especially with the size of rig you have. Personally, I would avoid it if it were me but I can't comment on your other route options. Just my 2 cents worth. Doug

I do all I can to avoid SLC! 93 is a good route to take. Watch fuel prices if you need diesel in Ely. There is a Chevron, at the east end of town that often has better prices than the Love’s, across the street, if you have a Chevron card. Hey 50, through Ely was tore up when we were there a month ago, so hav3to watch for that. If you are going to Flagstaff, and plan on taking I40 east out of Vegas, make sure everything is secured in your rig. That has to be the worse and roughest interstate I have ever driven.

Doug; Welcome to iRV2 ;

Glad to have you join us here in the forums .
The last time is was through SLC was 30 years ago , and the closest I've ever been to being in a 100+ vehicle pile up .
I'll burn a tank of diesel to avoid the area .

Again, thank you. TripWizard has me going thru Caliente and it just didn't look quite right to me. I drove thru SLC last year on a Saturday morning. It wasn't too bad traffic wise, but thank goodness I was able to follow an long haul truck thru that mess!

Thank you! I didn't want to head south on 93 without knowing what I was getting into. TripWizard wants to go thru Caliente and that just didn't seem right. I-40 to Flagstaff is rough, and I think it was I-17 near Flagstaff (last year). It was like driving over snow moguls! The dogs and I both were ill from the bouncing.
