Thank you all for your input.
This trip may not come to fruition because of the ongoing Covid19 crisis.
We will have to wait and see what progress will be made to see what will be open.

One of my favorite drives is on Alt US14 from Spearfish to Deadwood. If you do it on a motorcycle try to find a time when traffic is light and do it in both directions. At least once fast to enjoy the twisties and once slow to enjoy the scenery.
