Question Western NY to Daytona Fla

My wife and I are planning a road trip to Fla in two weeks. We would like any opinions on routes, possible weather conditions, and places to see along the way.We are just winging it so time is not a factor. Thanks in advance.

I'm from western NY myself, an am planning a trip to Charelston SC in April. The route I run pulling my camper is I take 390 to 86 to 15 down to 81 I take 81 to 17 which is Winchester Va. 17 will take you to 95 about 50 to 60 miles south of DC. The only traffic will be around Richmod VA. This route keeps me away from the traffic mess of DC and only adds about 30 minutes to the length of the trip.

90 west 79 south 19 south 77 south 26 east 95 south to daytona.....
Taken this route a million times. ... best route for traffic..

Possible weather.........snow ice........ I advise that you watch the forecasts to see how far south you need to get for above freezing temps.. if you take this route watch the weather for the Virginia mountains summersville wytheville ect.

That's the way we go, when we head north in the summer.

If you want a bit of scenery, at around St Augustine, Fl go over to A1A on the coast and take that the rest of the way into Daytona.
It's much slower than traveling the interstate, but you get a good view of the ocean and some cute little towns along the way.
St Augustine itself is a nice place to visit, and they've got an area dedicated for RV parking near parking garage. On the map below the pointer is on the parking garage. The RV parking is to the west, at the other end of Francis Field, off Riberia Street.

Lunch (or dinner) at the Funky Pelican in Flager Beach is also recommended.
Good food, good view, good service, reasonable prices.
