Research has indicated that the tunnels to Yosemite Valley have a height restriction of just over 10 ft, while the fogline has a height restriction of over 13 ft (for tour buses). Does this mean that if one's unit is over the 10 ft height they cannot go through the tunnels; or can they use the bus lane?

I have been to Curry Village in Yosemite 3 times in a tour bus back in the 80's. We had no problems that I remember. Not sure if they allow RV's to use the same roads.

Just got back from Yosemite, stayed in Curry Village, traveled by car. Saw lots of tour busses that came through the Wawona Tunnel from Fresno, Hwy.#41. Lots of info at www.nps.gov/yose. Doesn't really spell out RV height restrictions, you may have to call them. 209-372-0200.

kenrosey...
Welcome to iRV2!! This happens to be the friendliest RV forum around. You will find many folks here willing to help as best they can.
I do know one of our Monaco members with a 2005 or 2006 Monaco Diplomat goes to yosemite every Thanksgiving (I helped him post photos from last year's trip) so I am sure he will know...but I know one of his daughters' are getting married one of the last weekends of June...which means he must either getting ready to free her from his wings - or he has done that and they are recouping this week...but I will PM him and ask him to respond when he can

In the meantime..welcome to iRV2...we hope you visit and post often!!

This is a bit late, but for other people who might read this thread: We have traveled thru Yosemite via highways 140 and 41, and on up over Tioga Pass on highway 120.

There are 4 tunnels in Yosemite. 3 on Big Oak Flat Road, 2 short ones and one about 1/3 mile long. The Wawona Tunnel on highway 41 is about 1 mile long. Be sure to stop on the valley side of the tunnel for a geat view. Watch for pedestrians, not watching for you.

All four of these tunnels are passsable. We measure 11'9".

But we did hug the center line!!
