12v outlet question

I picked up our Laredo 5th wheel on Monday. Yesterday after work, I took out the sleeper sofa and replaced with our power reclining sofa that we had in our TT. It was quite the chore breaking down the sleeper sofa and our sofa to get them in and out. Right when I was about to slide the sofa into its spot, I noticed there was no outlets on the slide or nowhere close to plug in .... I'm not an electrical guy, is it possible for a dealer to install an outlet on the slide so we can plug it in?

Adding a 12v circuit is pretty simple, any shop can do it. We're looking to replace our sofa with a recliner, can I ask you who made your power sofa?
Thanks!

Probably a 120v recliner, rather than 12v?

I'm thinking the same thing as Cruzbill, I expect you need 120 volt (standard 'house' voltage) to make your recliners work.

If you can run a standard extension cord and plug it in somewhere to make the recliner work, then that's 120 volt.

When you ask the dealer (or whomever) to add an outlet for you, be sure and ask for the correct thing.

Correct, 120v sorry. We had one in the old TT that was setup perfect right beside the couch. Never crossed my mind about checking for it in the new 5er

Couple ways you could go here.
1st, you could add a 120V plug in the slide outside wall. Most power poles have 120V 15A plugs on them. You could run a separate cord to the exterior plug on the slide wall.

2nd, you could buy a battery backup for about $100. Probably way less than having an RV shop run a 120V wire and plug. We had a power reclining theater sofa in our 5er for about 2 years. We dry camp mostly so of course no 120V shore power. We bought the battery backup from the furniture dealer we bought the sofa from. It was rated for 100 open and close action. Way more than we would ever do during a 2-3 day stay. Of course you'd eventually have to recharge the battery backup. See step 3.

3rd, just run an extention cord from a nearby plug in.
