We have one in our new travel trailer. We've only been out twice for several days at a time. But I don't have anything negative to say, it has worked the way its supposed to. I believe its a Furrion. I've read in our TT models that some have had issues with the fuse blowing and based on the way its installed, means pulling the fridge out of the wall (rear kitchen model TT) in order to access the inline fuse. We haven't had this happen yet, knock wood. We've had the old never-cold fridges before, and DW seems to like this one better, so that's a positive. We don't boondock, so I don't know how long it takes to draw down the battery. Our TT does have a small solar panel on the roof, but again I doubt it could keep up with the fridge pull. Good luck in your decision.

A DC fridge will use lots more DC current than your old absorption fridge, at least 50 Amp hours daily.

You can replace the cooling element of your absorption fridge for about $800 in parts. See https://www.amazon.com/NORCOLD-INC-6...76926554&psc=1 for a typical package.

If you don't already have a big battery bank and at least 400W of solar and dry camp a lot then fix what'cha have.
If you primarily stay in W/E sites then go 12V. You get 2 more cu.ft of space in a 12V compared to an absorption fridge.
