Your original post said one jack died, so I am assuming that each Jack has its own motor? I am trying to help a recent widow get her 5er up and running for the year and her system is one motor with a connecting rod between the two legs. In her system, in addition to the gears you show in your photos, the top of each leg has two gears, the main gear is literally on top of the jack screw, turning the jackscrew up or down. The other gear is a tear drop type gear that pushes down onto the other, turning both. This other gear is attached (driven) by one of the gears you show in your photos. My issue now is that the system will not Extend if there is normal tongue weight pushing down. If I use a floor jack and release the pressure on the front weight, then the jacks work fine. I'm thinking this system is 18 years old and maybe just worn out? BTW, the trailer has two 12 volt batteries, one is brand new and the other is fully charged. Thinking I may need to go with the two motors and replace the single system, but would love to hear any suggestions. Thanks
