2 way tilt vs 4 way tilt fw hitch

Just finish a 6 weeks Fl trip (9000km) with our new fw. I am towing it with a husky 18k fw hitch with 2 way tilt. I was told it would be much better to tow with a 4 way tilt fw hitch since there would be less stress on the truck and fw. I did not find any issues with the present hitch. This being said is it would it make much of a difference on towing.

With a standard fw hitch there is the fore and aft tilt, but with the 4-way model you get side to side tilt also. Where this becomes most noticeable in my experience is when hooking up/unhooking on a surface where the truck is not on the same plane as trailer side to side.

Much less stress on everything with a 4-way (2 axis). Highly recommended.

4 way allows 5vr to 'move' independently from truck during maneuvering..be it on the roadway or backing into a site

4 way allows for off-level hitching/unhitching

2 way is good
4 way is better

IF buying heavier 5vr or 2 way is broke then YES---4 way
IF you just want to spend some monies then YES---4 way

your statement:
"I did not find any issues with the present hitch."

You will never regret going to the 4 way head. Started out (early 90's) with the 2 way, hated every connect on anything less than level surface. We're rarely on a level surface when camping. memtb

I love my 4 way. Easier on the 5er.

We've had great luck with the Super Glide hitch.

Isn't a Husky Hitch already 4-way? I know the 16K W hitch tilts front to back and also side to side. Which Husky do you have?

Read right over 'Husky 18K'

Must be a OLD Husky as they don't have a 18K---16k/26k now

My 2007 Husky 16k is full articulating head ---4 way
