2020 Vilano 320GK A/C issue
I have a 2020 Vilano 320GK which I have had since August 2020. I am having an issue with the Rear A/C unit running constantly and never reducing the temperature. The front A/C turns on and off and gets the temperature down to set value. but the rear A/C runs all day (and night). temperatures are in the 90's but I am setting it to 76 degrees the temperature keeps rising and seems to peak at about 85-87 degrees at the hottest point.
The Dealership tested it and says the rear output is only 5 degrees warmer than the front and that it is working fine.
Has anyone else experienced issue with Vilano A/C units? the A/C units are Coleman Mach 8 Plus 15K BTU units. are they not big enough to keep it in the high 70's?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Not the same camper, but ours was doing this yesterday. Pulled the filters and washed them.....cools brilliantly now. May want to check the outside of the unit and clean it. You may have animal nests in the shroud.

I have the same model RV, and a similar concern but maybe not quite as severe as your situation. There are a couple things:
First, the temp sensor for the rear AC is right across from the entry door. It can read high during the day. It may actually only be around 80 by your living room. Still too warm though. Not to mention we have a lot of windows in this model.
Second, the front and rear AC ducting is all connected. (Give it a test. Ex: Run only the front AC, and you will feel a little air in the back ducts, and vice versa.) My advice: Run that front AC more and set it at 65 if you have to. It WILL help cool the back. That has been my solution so far. Yes, your bedroom will be cold, but you can cut it back at night.
Personally, I have an appointment at the Tishomingo service center in October to get a few minor warranty items fixed before my warranty runs out. Am also planning on paying them to install the third AC. I like it cool inside if stuck in a heatwave.

Thanks for your input
I have also shut the A/C vents in the bedroom and bathroom trying to get more flow into the main cabin.
I think I will try and talk to Coleman about how much volume the units should handle. Seems like a 35ft RV shouldn't require a 3rd AC unit.
I took our 2016 Solitude to the same locations and never had an issues. Thought we were upgrading with the Vilano not regressing. We do enjoy the cooktop, separate oven, residential refer, heat pump, and washer/dryer closet.
Thanks again

Understood. Sounds like the Solitude was properly balanced between the two units. The Vilano 320GK doesn’t appear to be very well balanced. If you set both thermostats at the same temp, the front unit runs substantially less than the rear. That's why I mentioned to crank down that front AC to 65 in the morning on a hot day, and leave it set there.
And as you've probably discovered, the front unit primarily pushes air to the bedroom only, a small, tight, short bedroom. And the rear unit is left responsible for pushing air to everything back--the bathroom, the hallway, the kitchen/dining area, and the living room. And of course the latter areas are all wide open, tall ceilings, lots of large windows, and two large/tall opposing slides.
Assuming all of our current AC units are functioning properly, I can't help but think the 320GK HVAC was designed with the 3rd unit in mind, and doesn't perform well without that option. Not excusing Vanleigh one bit. And I'm not exactly happy here either.
You (we) may very well have a problem beyond the inefficient design of course. Best of luck and please let us know the outcome on your end.

2020 Vilano 320GK A/C issue
My approach to this situation would be as follows:
1)Verify outside coils are clean
(wouldn’t expect this to be an issue with such a new trailer but depends on the environment you camp in)
2)Verify inside filter is clean
(need to do this periodically anyway, worse if you leave the trailer door open alot)
3)Verify evaporator fins are clean - If dirty they will look like there is a coating of felt on them.
(Depends on how much you clean or neglect #2)
4)Verify Intake/output separator is correctly positioned in the plenum. This part is typically wedge-fit and many users have reported that it falls out of place. When this occurs the cool air goes right back into the AC unit and not out to the room.
5)Confirm AC is doing its job (15-20deg difference between input and output)
6)Verify each vent on the duct is sealed to the duct and not open to the roof. (Use silver/metal HVAC tape from Home Depot)
7)Consider installing RV Airflow devices in your AC units. These will improve the ambient air intake and increase your output at the vents by 30-40%

We have a 2018 320GK with two ac units. Just got back from a four day trip with day time temps of 105, camp site was only partial shade. Camper temp stayed at 72 all day. We shut down bathroom register and partially shut bedroom. This pushes more cold into the living area. Temps equalized and both units cycled on and off. If we can get our frig to work as well as the ac, we would be in heaven!

MT2, thanks for the input. what model are your AC units? and for that matter what fridge do you have? we have the Samsung 18CuFt french door model and it stays at -2 and 38 all the time once I found out that the inverter has to be turned on and off manually if you need to keep it from draining the battery. It was off and the fridge wouldn't run when you unplugged from shore power? that was one of the training topics not covered by the dealer when we bought it.

Not sure of the model of AC. The build sheet says Heat Pump 2 15000 BTU. No brand or model. The frig is a Dometic 1350 gas/electric.

Ours is a 2018 320GK. We love ours. Only issue has been the oven door shattered while we were driving. AC works great for us in temps up to 105.

Curious are you looking at new or used?
We have a 2021 Beacon 34RLB (Vilano 320GK) and would buy again. We purchased our Vanleigh earlier this year and thus far have received good support from Vanleigh.

Check the evaporator coil and filter for blockage. Now, wet the unit to run on high cool and let it run. Using a thermometer to read the inlet temperature to the unit and the closest outlet to the unit. You should get an out temperature reading that is 20 degF, plus or minus 2 degF lower than the inlet temperature. If the readings do not fall in this range, the unit is not performing to standards.
You cannot use an infrared temperature gun for this, as it will not read air temperature. It only measures temperature (radiated heat) from a solid surface.
