If your mini-split is the variable capacity inverter kind it may not work from a portable generator . I have seen the standard small BTU ones work off of hi amp alternators/inverors. The inverter style need " clean " power, lots of power problems with the ones I installed on our rural co-op grid. They would have to replace transformers sometimes.
