I've always just used my truck jack. You should always practice a tire change to make sure everything works at home when you get it. Also don't store tools needed for emergencies on the traffic side of the bins. You might find yourself digging them out with cars flying by.
Most important, make sure you maintain and inspect tires brakes and bearings as best as possible to avoid or lessen the chances of needing to change a tire on the roadway.
I haven't had to use it yet (thank goodness) but I have on of these.
Just thought I’d pass on my experience with these drive on Andersen tire blocks. I also have one and last March we had a tire failure between Kingman and Vegas. The Andersen didn’t lift the flat tire high enough to remove and install the spare. I had to place a piece of 2x6 under the Andersen to get enough height. I would suggest to anyone they owns these to test it in their driveway or other quiet location before travelling. I now have a small floor jack that I carry.
