5th wheel right side up

Hit with a thunderstorm or microburst. Winds around 65-70 mph. Be careful in these rigs folks. Thank God no one was inside or close by.

Now dealing with AAA!! Urgggg!

It seems like I get caught in micro burst about every 3 or 4 years. Just went thru one a week ago but in the house and only a few old trees were blown over.

I was caught in my trailer one time in a 65mph wind/rain storm that lasted 10 minute micro burst. I felt the trailer shaking but I think one thing that saved me was I was using a sun shade that anchored into the clay.

That's a shocking result at 65-70 MPH. Very glad nobody was hurt.

Where was this? Near Pearce or elsewhere?

I have always thought with how easy any RV can blow over that campgrounds could\should have 4~6 strategically placed tie down anchors for each RV spot. I suspect simple ratchet straps (the stronger ones) could save many RV's from blowing over in many of the high winds that occur at times, especially those from a micro-burst thunderstorm. ~CA

Speaking of windy conditions, I have a app on my phone that's great. It's called the "Wind alert" app. Tells me what winds I am driving into.

AAA was great, it took a while but finally came through. Cost us $2000 to have a wrecker come out and turn it right side up. They wouldn’t write it off until we did that and had the DMV transfer it to a salvage title. Then they wrote it off and paid us off.

They referred us to a company that buys salvaged vehicles and they paid us and $4500 for it and sent somebody to pick it up.

Flyer three incidents like this, the wife wants to hotel it for awhile. Can’t say that I blame her.

Glad everyone is OK. Good thing they didn't have to tow it. It appears Pearce is a long ways from anywhere.
