After we arrived home i crawled under the rv to drain the low water drains and noticed i have a busted equaflex suspension piece. pics to follow. 1 is this repair hard to do on your own? 2 what $$$ if a dealer does it?

You can replace both of them for less than $400 if you do the work yourself. It will not be that hard to do especially if you have a level up system,

Check the Lippert parts for the exact info on replacement parts. good luck.

It's not very complicated, but it is physical labour. You need to be able to remove wheels, jack the entire trailer and have at least 2 decent sets of adequate jackstands.

That doesn't look like an original equalizer, and it likely has been there 4-5 years or more judging by the rust. A good set of sockets, a decent hammer and punch set and it's doable.

I would recommend something like I just installed Lippert RV Road Armor. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I went with that due to good reviews, but also because the suspension is not linked via any rubber pieces that can break or crack. I'd also recommend a greasable bolt and shackle kit like Morryde has. I would not use the Lippert bolts as I had issues with them, a royal PITA.

Nothing is foolproof on RV parts, and even these supposedly "fixed and done" lifetime fixes wear out and need to be replaced later on. My greasable bolt and bushings lasted 4 years and came apart in pieces (the bushings only) with a ton of wear even though greased regularly. Overall, quality is sad on many parts but at least I try to use the best available.

I broke a leaf spring this year which damaged my Moreryde 3000 link. I was able to do do the work myself. I bought the pair of new links and a full wet bolt kit and it was under $300. For a dealer I would guess $500 in parts and probably a 4 hr labor charge. You buying parts and having a mobile mechanic might be a lot cheaper.

The first one of anything takes a little longer, but if you have the right tools and basic mechanic skills it easily took less than 2 hours to replace all bolts and the links on both sides.

You will need at least 1 jack maybe 2, lug wrench, wrenches or sockets that fit the bolts, hammer, medium pry-bar and if you have someone to help it is very useful.

And while your at it, you might just as well buy a wet bolt kit and replace the bolts and shackles while under there. The wet bolt kit for my dual axle trailer was$100 on E trailer.

Glad you made it home safely without any further damage.
DO NOT tow.
I would consider the CRE 3000, new wet bolt kit, new shackles the big thick ones. While under there replacing things make sure you double check the welds, since you are there.

I agree. Not a hard job, especially if you have a big foot to hold the rig up. Take your time, get one other person to help and install new wet bolts like the others said.

Get on MorRyde site and double check, but I think the CRE 3000 is for the heavier axles, vs. the SRE 4000 set.

Yes and no. You may need to pay close attention to specs. I bought the Road Armor and needed to measure bolt hole to bolt hole and triangulation as my suspension appears to be a hybrid of various weight classes.

Wet bolt kits are pretty standard, just double check with your measurements and axle weights.

Pretty easy job, you just need a good big bottle jack. Do one piece at a time and take your time. Everything should stay lined up.

I don't know where your at, but when I broke a spring last summer, I shopped around, since I was making a drive to anywhere, there is a RV store in Idaho Falls, had all the parts sitting on a shelf and half price of everyone else. I would try regular trailer stores for construction or farming trailers. You will get stronger yet cheaper parts.

What about grease for the wet bolts? i found 2 which would you prefer.
