Air compressor
Do any of you carry an air compressor when your out on the road with your 5th rig.....been kicking around whether to go with something I can permanently mount somewhere tucked away or just get something portable. Dewalt and Rigid make a few cordless units that seem nice or just a small electric pancake style unit. My use would be primarily for tire issues that could arise on the road and not having to deal with road side assistance or just to top off before a trip. I do carry two 2K Yamaha gens when on the road so power wouldn't be a concern.....what say you?

Yes thank you....that is one I was considering, also Dewalt and Porter cable has what they call a suit case style compressor and doesn't take up too much room......they measure approx. 15"x10"x10" and weight about 25lbs. Price is not bad either around $140.....leaning to the Dewalt as it has a smidge better capacity and CFM. I also have a small compact air hose reel with 50' of hose that I would mount so not taking the compressor out lugging it around or fooling around with coiling the air hose up to store......Also lokking at a unit with out the air tank, just a straight compressor but they seem to want $300 or more, I'm puzzled as to why, no air tank and such I would think less cost but not the case.

Since I've a big one at home I got the high pressure Slime one from Amazon. It's worked very well on four cross country trips and one slow leak. Not fast, but gets the job done and is very compact.

jw i actually carry a Sears Die Hard battery jump box that has an inverter, USB ports, air compressor and work light built into it. Don't have to worry about needing electricity to power it if you are on the side of the road somewhere. and It only takes up minimal room as well.

I have the VIAIR 400p. VIAIR compressors are quick and quiet. They also take up much less space than a pancake style compressor. Mine fits easily in the truck box. I’m not always near a 110v outlet. The VIAIR runs on 12v, so to use it I connect it to the battery and start the truck. I believe it can inflate to 150 psi.

I have a Dewalt 165 PSI, 6 gallon, 110/115V pancake compressor with 30' of hose. I also have an air drill, blow gun and an air inflator with gage in my trailer tool box. The tires on my trailer are 110 psi also my truck tires are 70 psi so, I need a heavy duty compressor to fill them up when I am on the road.

I bought the 450 RV unit due to the size of my tires. 365/70 22.5 and 315/80 22.5 and the pressure required in the fronts. The smaller units just won't last.

We have a gear driven air compressor on the side of the motor, fills the airbags automaticity and parking break so we just use that

I have the Viair 450P RV, just like the 400 I hook up the jumper cables to the battery and start the vehicle. The 450P RV is a 100% duty cycle so it can be ran for an hour before you need to shut it down and to let it cool.
