We're in Austin TX. Weather is starting to get warm. The AC's aren't keeping the rig cool. It's only 83° out, both AC's have been running all day but can't get inside temp below 78°.
The air comming out the ductwork is in the low 50's. Seems like the rig should cool down but it's not.
Anyone have any ideas?

its in same class with most all other FR products or Keystone. its not on DRV level or NH. its not a Lite anything thats weekender entry with cougar, palomino, jayflight etc etc etc. Not in mid level with Artic Fox or Heartland 365. Artic Fox that ive seen handle the heat well. So my classification about right.

one way to test rv's IMO 90-100 degree heat full sun no shade and set the AC at 70 and see how cool you can stay. That seperates the rv into categories. If ya cant do better then 78-80 degrees one level. 74-78 and your on another 73 and below its rocking.

That's not too bad but not good enough for 2 A/C units to overcome. Are the A/Cs 15k?
Are all of the awnings extended?

No shade where we are in the campground. We'll just have to live with it. Thanks

To the OP, did you make sure your roof vents, etc. are all closed. I would expect more cooling than what you are getting. Make sure you buttoned up and not losing your cool air.

I've also found that if you leave your air on 24/7 when it's hot, you'll have better luck. Some folks decide it's too cold at night or in the morning and turn the a/c off or temp up. Then spend all day trying to catch up and get it cooled back down

Just my thoughts. Good luck!

Senior Chief my only suggestion is to lower the blinds to block the sun and be sure the ceiling vents have cushions in them. That will help alot.

There has been some issues with the baffles inside some units. The cold air output is sucked back into the return air instead of being blown into the coach. due to an out of place baffle. One of the Dometic units on my previous fifth wheel had this problem. Getting all of the airflow into the coach really helped. You can probably do a search on utube to see the fix.

Hi Bill, I didn't see it mentioned,,,,were you ever happy with the cooling ? is it a new issue. Way back in posting I asked if the air volume was ok.
I have a 37 foot holiday rambler 5er and 2 15K BTU a/c's. I only use one when outside temps are 90 F ,I'm in full sun. Inside I like 73 or 74 ,,72 sometimes is too cool. I have dual pain glass and slide toppers. If I'm away for several days I leave some windows open but inside temp will be 85 to 90 when I return, I turn on both a/c's for a while then turn one off. I don't turn off the one a/c at night, I don't let the humidity go up.
I'm feeling your frustration Bill.

Here's a thought. My output temperature was good but the air conditioner wouldn't cool the trailer at all. My air conditioner was installed wrong. I pulled the inside cover and noticed there was no separation between incoming warm air and output cool air. The fan was just churning the air inside the plenum and very little air was passing through the cooling coils. I made a homemade device to separate the air flows. Air conditioner airflow into the trailer increased dramatically and my trailer stays relatively cool despite an abundance of windows. Could be both your air conditioners were placed by the same installer and he skipped a step.

I'm curious of the exterior color of your rig? I suspect it's not white. I'm did not opt for full body paint on mine. While beautiful and perhaps easier to maintain the appearance, white is much cooler.
