So even though i would say the F250 combo did not chuck something was causing me to brace /tension my upper body, was it a subtle form of chucking?
We- You, Glen and myself will probably never feel chucking like others do. If we feel chucking in our rigs, someone is pushing the trailer from behind!
Before the Volvo, we did have some chucking with the Dodge if the road conditions were right.
The MorRyde pinbox absorbed most of it.

I've seen these threads here as well as another brand dedicated site I frequent. To date, two relatively new fivers and two relatively new Ford Super Duty pick ups, only experienced a moderate chucking in the current truck a couple times when one corner of the B&W base was too loose in the Ford 5th wheel option pucks. This leads me to believe that much of the chucking folks experience is due to looseness in their hitch or flexing somewhere in the hitch mounting system. The B&W mounts pretty solidly, no rails while most if not all of the others use some sort of rail system. The air or whatever cushion hitch softens the impact so you don't feel much or very little rattle or chucking. Then there are loose hitch jaws that may contribute to that motion. Of course this is only conjecture on my part, but something to look at. As far as a 'soft' pin box - if nothing else, they will ease the load and lessen shock to both the 5er and to you and the TV - and something I too would like to add to ours.

I had the 5th Airborne on my 43' TH and it did pretty good on my Chevy. When I traded for a Ford DRW, I also put air bags on the truck, and the combination was excellent.

Yep

5th Airborne for me. it was a real improvement, looks nice on the front of the camper too . I don`t think any of them completely eliminate the 2 issues. If the wife approves of the better ride then you made the right purchase no matter what brand.

Anything is better than nothing.

Never had the Mor Ryde but have had 5th Airborne & Trail Air on identical 5ers. No question, the Trail Air is far superior. Costs more too.

The difference is easy to see. Trail Air has much more travel potential than the 5th Airborne. Trail Air hinges fwd. 5th Airborne hinges aft.
