You may know Alfa is out of business. I've heard little comments either positive or negative. Here's a link to an Alfa owners group where you may find more information.

The later Alfas did not have the same reputation for quality as those that had come before....signs of a company that was in decline.

My cousin had allot of problems with his. Declamation of the walls was the worst. So many he wanted Alfa to take it back as a Lemon. They said they would put a million bucks into it before they would do that. A month later they got it back. Now they can't heat the place because of the lake of insulation.

We have had 3 Ideals, 97 28' which was a great small trailer. a 2000, 34' which was totaled in 01 in Casper, WY and an 01 which we have had since 9/01 and it is a great trailer for fulltiming.

The major item with the 2000's and later was the delamination that eventually put Alfa out of business coupled with a few other problems.

Quality of the Ideals made after 01 was on the decline as Alfa took all their experienced 5th wheel folks off the trailer line and put them building the motorhomes.

Overall the Ideals are good units. If, you are in extreme heat, the basement A/C will only drop the temp inside about 20 degrees from the outside. Comfort is attained by having an external A/C mounted in the bedroom skylight.

All the appliances on the units you are looking at are out of warranty but mine have lasted right at 10 years with no problems.

A group of former Alfa employees started a business in the old Alfa factory and they are called Alfateers and have many of the parts needed for Alfa repairs. www.alfateers.com
