I have the Andersen Ultimate 5th wheel hitch. Just sold my MHC that had the Road Armor pin box. Had to have a lockout kit that I added to that pin box. I’m buying a Grand Design that has the Morryde rubber pin box. Do I need a new capture plate or a lockout kit that would have to be added to the new pin box to be compatible with the Andersen hitch or am I good to just add the Andersen adapter to the existing puck on Grand Design?

Original marketing installation video for Andersen Ultimate had it mounted on a MorRyde pin box. I see they have changed it since. Might be worth a call to either manufacturer.

Grand Design on their 150 series uses a rotating pin box and capture plate That pin box would need to be locked for use with the Andersen with no capture plate; not MorRyde though.

You will be fine to add the AUH capture cone to the pin box king pin. Not sure if your new rig will have a rotating pin box, if it does, yes it will need to be locked out. Should your new rig have a rotating pin box it will come from the factory locked out unless someone unlocked it.

I just talked to a MorRyde rep. He said I would definitely need the RPB77-006 adapter for the rubber pin box. It keeps the pin box from moving side to side but still allows it to move front to back for cushioning when breaking.

Easy kit to install , 4 nylon blocks that install next to the round tube to limit side to side. It had a demco auto slide hitch that used them also on the Morryde pin box. I will say i have since changed to a duel wheel truck and pull the side to side kit out and no longer useing a slide hitch since I have a long bed. It is noticable that is is smoother in the cab of the truck then my older single wheel one ton. The hensley trailer saver BD5 made it much smoother also.
