Any 5th Wheel Rentals?

I love to camp. I've done it all my life, solo, and mostly in tents and very small trailers. I'd like to buy a fth wheel but need to find out if the DW will enjoy it. I'm wondering if you all know of any place in the country where I could rent a 5th wheel for a couple of nights so she can see if it is something she will enjoy. I know I can rent Class C motorhomes, but I would like to rent a 5th wheel as that's what I would like to purchase.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Given the significant mods required to the tow vehicle [hitch, wiring, etc], its hard to believe that you could rent just a 5er. Guess there might be someone out there that would rent both the 5er and the tow but that has got to be a pretty small number.

Contact Scott at http://www.campers4rent.com .

He has an RV rental business in Lewisville, TX. If he does not have a 5th wheel for rent he may know who does.

Thanks for the leads.

I am not really wanting to tow the 5th wheel. If possible, I'd just like to rent one already set up somewhere for a night or two.

Contact a 5th wheel dealership in your area. Some have used units and adjoining campgrounds. They might be able to accomodate your request to weekend in one.

Smilin Jack I see you are from Mooresville NC, I would suggest you contact Tom Johnson Camping in Concord NC. They have a campground right next to their dealership and lots of 5ers I bet the could set you up for a couple of nights.

Staying in a newer 5th wheel is really not like camping. They are way too comfortable. Heck some of the semi-upscale models now have residential type refrigerators.

Anyway - the best idea is look for a dealer that also runs a campground. They just might be flexible enough to set it up for you to rent. There are three dealers that I know that also run a campground.
1. Lazydays in Tampa Florida.
2. Walnut Ridge in Indiana
3. Nature Coast RV in Dunnellon Florida.

Of these Nature Coast is the closet with camping weather.

Good luck. Let us know if you have any luck.

Thanks

We own a Raptor 300 MP and we saw a Raptor 5er that a company called MyRVHotel.com rents out at Disney in Orlando. Don't know the details but I think they brought it and set it up. Good Luck, Rob
