Any models with all rack n pinion slides?
Wife is jonesing for a medium size right. About a 35ft or so. But I am adamant about not having one with Swintek slides.
Any manufacturers with only rack and pinion slides?
Thanks

You even need to be careful , because I'm sure that Lippert " Rebranded " , Schwintek slide drives to " Lippert in wall slide drive "
But if your examining an RV in person ; I'm sure you know what to look for .

The Forest River Georgetown and FR3 in their gasser line, if you're buying new. Their Dynamax Super C as well.
All use the SlimRack slide system in the later model lines.

I have a Lippert 'SlimRack' slide in my bedroom. It seems to operate in a way very similar to the Schwintek, but with better looking rails on the sides of the slide and I also have heard that it uses better motors than the Schwintek, but I'm not a technical person. I do know that the SlimRack does not have the syncing issues that we had with the Schwintek in our old Tiffin Open Road.
Does anyone know if it is more robust or dependable than the Schwintek? In over a year and 9,000 miles we have not had any issues.
the OP might want to consider this as an option. My two big slides in the living room are rack and pinion.
Thanks,

The SlimRack is a rack and pinion. The toothed flexible "rail" is the rack. In the wall is the pinion gear. Unlike the Schwintek it is simply not possible for the pinion gear teeth to become disengaged from the rack teeth.
Unlike the Schwintek with a fixed rail, the flexible SlimRack rack is designed to flex to compensate for slight side to side movement of the slide. The Schwintek can become disengaged and chew up the metal rail if the slide moves slightly away from the motor gear or even skip a tooth, even though they're not really teeth as such. That causes alignment problems.

New Horizons uses all hydraulic slides. Check the used units, there’s some great deals

Thanks for this information and clarification. I now feel better about my SlimRack slide and maybe the OP will view it as an option now.
Thanks,

No problem. Note that there is a sync process you can easily run from the push buttons, and that should be run occasionally, but it depends on you having the automatically programmable controller box.
I can't imagine that a 2024 would not have one but the only way to know for sure is to look at the slide controller box and get the part number. Or ask Brinkley if you do.

Thanks. Not sold on it yet. I will do some more research but i really am afraid of synced controller systems. Im a retired software controls engineer and for RV's i believe simpler is better for my application. On any given summer i will put 15k miles on my rig and stay in 60 different parks or so...so my slides get a LOT of use. But thanks to both of you guys for the info and ill dig into it.
