I'm on the east coast. No dealers here. I'm still looking for close used ones.

That is a consideration. I would think you could find a lot of Montana dealers near you both for sales and service. Most people I know from the East Coast come to Minnesota and buy from Niemeyer Trailer Sales in Albertville, MN.

Clarification, no Outdoors RV or Northwood Arctic Fox dealers near here. Sorry about that.

We have a Montana and love it. Like almost anyone who owns an RV, we have had some small issues but nothing serious. We absolutely love our floor plan, the storage and the ease of pulling and setting up.

I want to chime in on this subject. I live in Massachusetts, 30 miles west of Boston. After looking at just about any 5th wheel available towable with a 1 ton diesel we decided on the Arctic Fox 29-5T. Purchased it Unseen. We tried to order it in Pennsylvania from Kelly RV but could not get our custom order in for a December build-AF builds one kind of RV at a time which is a very good practice- We ended up ordering in Mesa Arizona, drove with a U-Haul to Mesa and picked up our unit there. I have never had to bring the RV in for any service that I could not fix myself. Very happy with the Arctic Fox.

We are full-timers and loving our Arctic Fox 35-5Z (39'). We came from a 2007 Monaco Dynasty diesel pusher, and while the AF is not in the same league we haven't had any issues with it whatsoever and it seems to be well built.
We shopped/researched various brands for about 3 months, including Carriage. DRV, LandMarks and BigHorns and others before making our decision. One of our key criteria was the frame as many these days are built on the generic Lippert frames that have had problems.
Finding a like new 2016 for a great price was icing on the cake. No regrets thus far. It also has something like 3600 lb cargo capacity.

Great question, ORV or AF.....if you are able to do research on the web, both of these manufacturer's have excellent sites....I remember ORV has a web site where they actually go through the manufacture process and build ....we ordered our ORV Glacier Peak and it took eight months to receive it, as they build to order especially for the upgrade Titanium model....our dealer here in Colorado is the furthest east available...they did not have many to choose from post the RV show in Denver, so to get what we wanted we ordered one. It again depends on what you want, the videos are helpful, on each site....some are like a brochure lay out.

When the Montana brand first came out, they were a high end, high quality RV. If you look at the build quality today, it has really gone down, in my opinion (I had always used Alpenlites' as my yardstick). Arctic Fox, on the other hand has maintained their level of quality over the years, so I think AF would be the better choice.

I have owned 2 AF 5er's in the past. One 27-5 and a 29-5. Both were excellent and during a 3-4 hour PDI on both never had 1 thing that needed to be fixed.
Both were tight no drafts/cold spots even during snow storms. Never any frozen lines, however did have a frozen dump valve one time.
The only problem I ever had on one of them was a check valve on the heater had to be replaced. Also went to several AF Rally's in La Grande, OR where the factory is. While they are heavy, the frames and I believe now the axles are made in house.
While many people I know have or had Montana's as stated above based upon comments the quality had gone down hill.
Dealer warranty work is worthless. Takes several weeks to get on the schedule and several more weeks to get things fixed. Either fix yourself or get a mobile repair person to fix it. As your on the east coast AF would probably approve any warranty work needed thru a mobile repair person. But if you do a through PDI most likely will not need any repairs done under warranty.
Good luck on which ever you select.
